Physical Education - Cross Country Term 2 2018


Theme - Animals term 1 2018

Learning Intention

1. Students will enhance their social skills through symbolic play.
2. Students will learn care and management when looking after animals.

During Term 1 to ease our students into a new academic year, the students participated in Symbolic Play activities to enhance their social skills and learning opportunities based on the terms theme Animal Care.

Every afternoon during topic time there were adult led stations that provided social learning scenarios where Trey learned social skills at a veterinary clinic, a shop, hairdressers and dress up station. Trey particularly enjoyed the dress up station and shop assistant and he played the role well.

We also had a successful Pet Open Classroom. Lots of parents came in with a variety of animals to learn about.



Theme - Royalty Term 2 2018

Learning Intention

1. Students will explore and learn about the British Royalty customs and history.
2. Students will create food products that represent royalty custom.

In Term 2 our students have been learning about British royal customs and British history in honour of the Royal Wedding celebrated during this term. The media that covered the Royal Wedding made this topic relevant and meaningful for the times and the students enjoyed the activities they participated in.


Trey made bunting, art displays and learned about the British Royal family and their roles. He particularly enjoyed making old recipes fit for kings and queens such as mini Victoria sponge, cucumber and radish sandwiches, cherries jubilee and coronation chicken.







Maths - Time and Money Skills Term 2 2018

Learning Intention:

1. Trey will order all notes and coins in value order.

Trey is a Learner when ordering coins and notes in value order. He has also been exploring his money spending skills on his EOTC fortnightly shopping trip to New World. Trey alongside his peers has $2 to spend each week with the challenge to buy a treat and save a little each week in order to have more to spend at the next visit to New World. .

Next Steps: Trey will continue to independently order coins and notes in value order.














2. Trey will explore O'Clock and half past.

Trey can identify and acknowledge time to the hour (o'clock) and he is learning to identify and make times to half past the hour.

Communication ILP Goal Term 2 2018

Learning Intention:

1. Trey can use his PODD to express how others and himself are feeling and why, by using ‘because…..’

Trey has Achieved this goal really well, he has participated in weekly discussions, games and social scenarios about feelings and the types of feelings and emotions he or others may feel in certain situations. Trey has been encouraged through using Maily alongside his PODD to describe feelings and being aware how emojis can describe an emotion. This goal has regulated Trey a lot more as he becomes more aware about others feelings and how to manage his own emotions.



Next Steps: Trey will work through some social scenario scripts in order to support his social skills when making new friends and initiating games when out on the playground.
